Question about 1996 Nissan Pickup

Open Question

EVAP code 1447 96 nissan pickup

I have been fighting this truck for 3 years and getting close but no cigar. EVAP code 1447 sucks ( does not pinpoint problem ) It started with charcoal canister explosion(Thanks nissan) .I cleaned the lines, checked the pressure sensor, it was giving a bad reading so I changed it . All of the solenoids have passed the component checks .also canister vent valve /solenoid works as advertised. all electrical has been checked , voltage & to the computer. I even gave nissan a chance( for a month) and they just changed a O2 sensor and the evap metering solenoid (which didn;t need to be changed and didn't solve the problem). I did break the evap vacuum cut valve while I was working on it today ,so I decided to check it since it was out, and it failed , but solenoid for this valve checks out ok.

Well finally,I found out what was causing the 1447 code on the nissan truck. I had to replace the vacuum sensor with the same part # sensor.( the after market kind didn't have the same readings as the OEM) so it threw a 0443 code after that ,which is the purge solenoid. then you need to check and see if the vacuum hoses are on the right way. the diagnostic breakdown for the purge solenoid operation on alldata shows how it works .I simpley switched the hoses so the purge valve would operate correctly .NO MORE CODES

SOURCE: 1996 Toyota Previa code p0441

P0441 is Evap Emission Incorrect Purge Flow; the repair you are describing is easy, and should correct the P0441 restricition...I would anticipate no large problems.

When I start my engine when it's cold and rev engine it causes lower radiator hose to collapse what could cause it to do that

It means that your thermostat is closed and your water pump is sucking water out of the radiator, but your thermostat is not letting it circulate back causing a vacuum and sucking the hose flat. Many older cars have a spring located inside of the lower hose to fight this.

Where is the purge solanoid on chevy tahoe

Depends on the year, if its a 2002 or newer, it is located on the intake manifold. dead center, if you are fighting an evap code, the most common failure is the purge cannister vent valve, located underneth the vehicle, there is an updated kit.

Saab 900se turbo code po455

A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened: A loose or improperly affixed gas cap, A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand) , Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system.

Make sure you click at least 3 times when closing gas cap to seal tight, and the seal on the cap may be worn...common issue. The code will go away after a bit (next test cycle) if this is it and you have tightened.

The car is some PM and change out the vac hoses. Less than 10 feet total. Do yourself a favor and get silicon lines, you'll never need to do it again. Takes a half hour at the most. Same deal..code will reset after next test cycle if this was the trick.

Still cant get it fixed...may need to smoke test it...or blow some cigar smoke into system yourself and watch for where it comes out...change that chunk. (If you do the previous and change em all. you likely wont come to this point. If you'll be back doing this again)

Worst case...your evap purge pump is on the fritz. Easy to change and not terribly expensive as Saab parts go.

How do I fix the codes on a 1996 nissan maxima?

code p 0500 is the VSS ( vehicle speed sensor)
code p 0600 is the CAN bus--malfunction
code p 1447 is the EVAP system
the car is 21 years old and there will be more problems that what you have been told about
The price that you would expect to pay is junk yard value and anything else would be a bottomless money pit for you

My 20002 nissan maxima came up with a codepo4055 evap control leak detected new gas cap did nothing to fix problem

this fault code would indicate you have a large evap system leak.most often sets from a fuel cap not secured.since thats not the case i would bet its the vent control valve on the evap canister sticking open.evap leaks can actually be cheaper to fix if taken to a pro or dealer with bidirectional scan tool and smoke machine to pinpoint leak.the darts get fairly expensive on evap codes.if it turns out to be the valve expect about 250.0 0for diagnosis, the part and the repair. let me know how it turns out.

2005 Chevy Suburban 5.3L . getting P0488 code / Evaporative Emission Control System vent Control circuit shorted. What does that mean? How do I fix it?

i work at GM and we replace the vent vavles alot, along with evap canister and filter. but mostly due to dirt and mud sucking up into the filter .the filter is located left side of transmission by cross member, unless its been relocated already.evap canister is located at the front of gas tank or rear of it ,vent vavle is close to it .it is connected to evap canister with a tube or pipe witch ever you would like to call it. check evap for dirt or dust could be clogged.

What does code po442means on a 2002 chevy trailblazer

EVAP Emission Control System - Small Leak Detected (1.0 mm). This code can be set when 1. fuel filler cap is not completely tight, 2. when various hoses get punctured or the canister close valve does not seal completely, 3. there is an actual leak in the charcoal canister, fuel tank, or other EVAP system component, 4. if any one of these components are malfunction (a), fuel tank pressure sensor, (b) purge control solenoid valve, (c) canister close valve, or (d) fuel cap. An engine vacuum leak would not set this code, Usaly there is a sensor on fuel tank called Evap controll switch that has failed

Had a diagnostic done and it read the code p0453 had a new fuel pump so the problem may involve the fuel pump if the evap is in the gas tank so i am trying to find out where the evap sensor is located is...

the code discription is evaporative emission control system pressure sensor high. the sensor is located on the top side of the fuel tank. perhaps they did not connect it properly, kinked a hose or blocked the inlet port.
