I have replaced almost everything I can think of on this thing to get it to run and recently found out about a anti theft reset code implanted in the vehicle to help consumers who have problems whit the anti theft locking them out of starting the engine but can't seem to find anyone who knows the code. I've called locale dealers to ask them for their advice but they either want me to bring it in and have them do it (5 minutes to fix and yet charge for 4 hours of labor), or they seem to not know what I'm talking about when i mention the anti theft reset code. I've checked google for my problem and it my vehicle does not have a button anywhere to be found under the dash or elsewhere inside the vehicle. Had this issue with a 2000 V-6 explorer. Check engine light was not on but I thought I would see what was going on as I kept feathering the engine running, hooked up the scanner and ran live data stream. When I got to engine coolant temp. it was reading 8 degree Fahrenheit and only went up to 16 degrees. Since you have to remove the upper intake to get to the engine coolant temperature sensor, I replaced the sensor and the sender. Truck has been running great.....
This can be cause by many things, such as a fuel pump going bad / or is bad, fuel injectors need cleaned / replaced, fuel filter dirty just to name a few. Could also have a vapor lock where the fuel line is running to close to a heat source like the manifold or engine and the heat creates a vacum in the fuel line stopping the flow of fuel. Best bet have a garage repair shop look at it. To many hit and miss causes.
the previous code you had was for the fuel evaporative emission system, I had this same problem with my 2000 explorer, everything working great, sometimes stalled. I found that the connection to the ignition and fuel pump relays were not the greatest and it caused the fuel pump one to eventually die. Iwould have a look at them just to be sure.
I personally would check the fuel pressure. Then I would go back to the coil. I have seen brand new bad coils out of the box. The symptoms of a loss of power point to this component, especially if the car idles well, but loses power when accelerating.
