What is a load proportioning valve

A load proportioning valve is a valve that is used in the brake system that uses an arm attached to the suspension in the rear and as the vehicle is loaded, the arm allows the valve to allow more brake fluid pressure to flow through to even the braking and cause the vehicle to stop more effectively even when there is more weight in the back. Usually used on pick ups.

Villager GE 95 liquid escape in a brake system

It is a brake load sensoing valve that applies more pressure to the rear brakes as you load the vehicle. It is $375 from tascafordparts.com. Get one from the junk yard or just bypass it.

usually just the lines are leaking and can be replaced.
Valve, Brake Load Sensor Proportioning The Villager has a brake load sensor proportioning valve (2B547) that is mounted on the vehicle frame and connected to the rear axle housing (4010) . When the vehicle is unloaded, the brake load sensor proportioning valve closes and partially reduces hydraulic pressure to the rear wheel cylinders (2261) . As the vehicle is loaded, the weight presses down the back end of the vehicle on the rear springs (5560) . This activates the brake load sensor proportioning valve which opens and supplies more hydraulic pressure to the rear wheel cylinders . When the vehicle is fully loaded, the brake load sensor proportioning valve is fully open and provides full hydraulic pressure to the rear wheel cylinders .

I have 1994 cadillac deville that is losing brake fluid from a left rear propotioning valve. Is this replaceable or repairable and where do i find parts

If the proportioning valve is leaking, certainly replace it. May find parts at dealer, or aftermarket source or even a salvage yard.

I checked Autozone but did not find this part listed, per se.

Leaking proportioning valve, and master cylinder

a salvage yard part would be fine, and would be a fraction of the estimate given you by Pep Boys. that estimate is really high, btw. kia is a good vehicle when properly maintained. if finances are an issue,i recommend using sme Lucas products that are additives, they wont fix your problem peranetly but can definately hold you over a month or two.

The rear brakes on my 1996 Lincoln VIII don't work...the brake pads do not need to be replaced according to the mechanic...he did bleed the lines but the dashboard brake light is on indicating a problem...

The light means you are low on fluid now. If your rear brakes are not working you have a master cylinder or proportioning valve problem. You may also have a leak at the rear.

I have a 96 geo tracker. there is a brake valve on the rear axel that has a plunger in it and lines that go to each wheel. What is it called. Mine is leaking

Rear brake cylinder...

The seals are leaking perhaps because the brake linings ar too thin. The brake piston in the cylinder has to expand to the edge and will cause the leaks...

If you replace the brake shoes, the problem may resolve itself.

Hope this helps!
