Question about 2001 Dodge Dakota
I have 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport. New brakes within the last 8 months. Right front wheel (disc brake?) heats up sometimes after even a short trip of under 50 miles (twice). It does not happen all the time. It smells like wheel is ready to catch fire and it has smoked alittle (turned off vehicle and hosed down the wheel - steaming disc brake). Took it to repair shop and everything checked out ok but they said the brake line might have collapsed and made the brake pads close and heat up. They recommended replacing brake lines if it happens again. Could it be a wheel bearing? Thank you for your help and advise.
Most likely a brake line causing problem. it is either the rubber hose or caliper sticking. the rubber hose will collapse and cause pressure to stay on the caliper
