Question about Hyundai Sonata

1 Answer

I can't change the air temp from hot to cold air. Hot only.

My temperature control does not change from hot to cold. I think it is temp switch. It only blows hot air. I can't change it to cold after my wife changed it to hot one day to defrost the windshield.

Is is a fuse or a sensor? How can I fix it.

I have a similar problem with my 2003 Santa Fe. If the temperature control (dial) is set all the way to WARM, it blows hot, but if the dial is turned even one tiny click back from the full WARM setting, it starts to blow cold. ANy ideas?

    Thanks.

The first thing to d is to go under the hood and see if eh cable is stuck if it is not then it has disconnected from its position secondly yu may have a heater control valve which is broken inside which means the water is still flowing nd the heater is on wheher o choose hot ot cold.

the only way t fix the heater control valve is to repace it

My 2005 kia sorento will not switch from hot to cold and vise versa. the mechanic is saying its probably the "airdoor actuactor motor / mixer actuator. any advice and where to buy this part(s) for a g

Sorry for your troubles ,
Temperature Hand in dash reading NORMAL ?
Does it Turn Blue to Red if so is do you feel friction or restraint like your turning something rather than freewheeling (smooth fast turning) or Digital and or does it show that it should be warm and not cold ?
Does the TEMP change at all(even the least little bit could narrow the results down) when knob is turned?
POSSIBLE - The Actuator/Motor that switches the VENTS very well could be BAD , Temperature Switch / Climate Control Switch (hot to cold could be broke at the base and only allowing the knob to turn and not in the switch ) Thermostat may be stuck open (keeping the engine running cool and smooth but no heat , maybe just a slight TEMP change when switched from Cold to Hot ). The A/C Switch is pushed in or turned on or broke and is stuck ON
FIXES - 1st- Check FUSES - If Temp HAND Reads Normal it not your THERMOSTAT. - Change the Control Switch / Temp switch - Check A/C Button/Knob . AUTOZONE is my place of business they PRICE MATCH AS WELL!
Hope this Helps , Flaming Ratchets Auto Repair

2001 Silvarado 2500 Hd the temperature control switch does not control temp; it just blows very hot. The A/C does not seem to kick in with the switch tuned on to make the temperature even a little cooler....

If it seems to blow even hotter air when the A/C is on then yes you have a leaking A/C system. It will still activate because it isn't empty yet. Another possibility is the temp door actuator isn't closing to the cold position. When you turn the fan off or to low, adjust the temp from full hot to full cold (just with key in run position, not with engine running). Look up at the heater control box on the drivers side just above the gas pedal, and you should see a white triangular plastic box. You should hear the actuator move or even see the rod in center of box turning. If not the actuator is faulty.

This car has the automatic temperature control system

The hot/cold switch is probably bad.you have a blend door box that opens to let the cold air in and closes to let the hot air in.From what you are saying this part is no responding to the switch movement.Make sure power is at the switch and power should go through the switch when put on cold air this moves the blend door. Some times the blend door goes bad and has to be replaced its under the dash on the right side.

Jetta AC mixes hot and cold air

You won't get ice cold because it mixes to prevent evaporator ice up and cracked windshiels.

Blowing hot air all the time

There is a door that opens to the heater core. When the vacum control in the dash gets old the diaphram gets to flimsy to close one port so it puts vacum to all ports. Therefore there is not enough pull to engage the vacum motor to move the trap door.Change the switch in the dash. Check to make sure that there isn't an obstructing object in front of the door before you buy a new switch

Temperature Control not working on 1999 Ford Explorer

Sounds like your temperature actuator is not moving or your temp door is broken. On max a-c ,coolant is shut off to your heater core allowing only cold air in.

Heater not hot

does the heater core get hot, check the coolant hoses going to the core to see if both are hot, if they are U have a air temperature control blend door problem, most likely the actuator for the door has failed.
