I know that, I have followed your lead and tried to be calm about some of the so called other experts solutions, I know that are just trying to help but the customer just gets really confused with all the conflicting information he gets on the post. Have a good weekend. My wife has to have surgery Monday, we are newly weds and I am very worried, doing this fixya thing takes my mind off it.

Auto gear box in a magna is not working

Hi I'm Peter, What kind of transmission oil did you use? According to what I have found from a Mitsubishi Master tech , here is his response and I have to believe it. As a Master tech myself my wife had a Galant and I was so glad the day it was totaled in a wreck. I had to change brake pads on that car at 17K miles. A brand new freaking car not even broke in and already having repairs. But back to you DO NOT drive it any more. I would drain it and hope I didn't find chunks of anything. Anyway here is what he said....I've been a tech for a long time and I've never seen more problems with vehicles using supposedly equivalent ATF than with Mitsubishi. I don't care what the bottle says, use only Mitsu SP4 in your vehicle or you will have issues. There are special friction modifiers that adhere to the torque converter clutch (and all the clutches for that matter) and without them you will have noticeably reduced smoothness. It won't "blow up" your transmission, it just won't shift or run like it should. Spend the extra bucks and get the mitsu fluid

1989 Mitsu Montero won't turn over

Could be the starter, the cables, the neutral safety switch, or the key switch. Do you have power at the starter post when the key is in the start position ?

Knock or tapping at idle

Firstly, check your engine oil level. If the level is low, the rocker arms in the cylinder heads can tap tap tap... This may be why you're getting an engine light. Check the oil pressure gauge for a reading. If the oil pressure and level is ok, you can run an oil cleaning agent thru your motor with the oil and then do an oil change. Sometimes you can quiet a noisy motor that way.
You could also use a high-mile oil in the motor and see how that works. You can also add an oil additive to help quiet older motors..
hope this helps you.

Jaguar xj 2003 oil leak

hey stuart1945,

Their is now real common oil leaking problems on xj that i have seen over the years. I would said if i was forced to pick one, i would first check the valve cover gaskets. I think that would be the most likely. I know this isnt a x-type but they leak from the engine oil pan all the time, i would check there next.

Another thing i would suggest if you really dedicated to find this oil leak and your have a hard time finding it. Is get some oil dye, a black light and some glasses. You can get these at almost any part store, the oil dye will light up when you shine a black light on it. Hopefully this helps you good, good luck, let me know if you need more help
