I went to the Hyundai dealership and found out that it was still under warranty. They fixed it with no problem. Always check to make sure whether or not your vehicle is still under warranty.

The same thing happened to me. Did your check engine light go out after having it scanned? mine did and I don't know if it does this after being scanned or if the problem ceased. Any ideas?

Same Problem happened to me just the other day..took it to mechanic code 0446 has to do with a fuel system valve defined as ccv canister. apparently the valve got stuck. had a vapor test and they found problem. however my check engine light went off once i filled my car with gas. They are going to contact Hyundai to get cost for replacement as i only have 45000 and I purchased extended warrnaty. But the vapor test cost $150.00

If you mean the "check engine" light (yellow) next to the "cruise" light if you have cruise control, you need to have the code scanned to find out what the erroe code is. From there, you will know how it can be fixed. I've been told that as long as the light doesn't flash, you can still drive the car. An auto parts store probably can read the code for you because they will want to sell you the replacement parts.

Good. Did they tell you what the code was? I'm still trying to figure out what to replace with a code of P0446. The shop manual skips from P0445 to P0447. My 2004 has 128,000 miles on it, so it's way out of warranty. It's still the best vehicle I ever owned.

2004 hyundai santa fe parked it last night, went to use it today and it doesn't accelerate, engine runs fine, no warning lights on dashboard lit, can put it in gear and move it, but absolutely no...

The 04 Santa Fe came with three different engines. 4 cylinder (2.4 lit), and two different V6's (2.7 lit & 3.5 lit). The 2.4 & 2.7 use throttle cables connected directly to the throttle plate, but the 3.5 uses ETS (Electronic Throttle System) which uses two sensors (APS & TPS) and a control module (ETSCM). APS=Accelerator Position Sensor, TPS=Throttle Position Sensor, ETSCM= Electronic Throttle System Control Module. There are different diagnostic procedures for each system.
Go to www.hmaservice.com and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, campaigns, illustrations and procedures, etc.

the crank pulleys (also called a harmonic dampener) on these vehicle are a fairly common failure. as they begin to break apart, the pulley will begin to have a wobble as the engine runs, causing the drive belts that power your alternator, power steering, etc to loosen off. when the belts then get wet, combined with being loose, they will slip, causing your accessories not to work. hope this was helpful!
