Question about 2000 Cadillac DeVille
I own a 2000 cadillac deville that i purchaced in 2003. i have never replaced the battery and i have had the car for 5yrs. now. should i wait for it to give me problems or replace it now.i am afraid that when it gets colder it may not start up. will my car tell me when i need to replace it, as it does when other machanical things go wrong to get car serviced.
If you want to stay on top of things I would probably replace the battery. A 5 year old battery could begin to give you problems especially when cold. If it were my vehicle I would probably not change it until it failed but I know that would put me in a potentially difficult and even unsafe situation. I have seen batteries last longer but I would be proactive and the 5 year mark is a good indicator. Hope this helps.
