The vehicle will not rattle when you are accelerating, but when it idles or is slowing down it will rattle. It doesn't seem to be affecting the engine, but we do want to find out what the problem is.

The rattle seems to be coming more from the back of the engine closer to the exhaust. I had someone else tell me it might be the catalitic convertor.

Sounds like the timing chain...there is a tsb on the subject need to replace the chain and install the tensioner from the tsb...the number for it is tsb 9-07-97. you may need to get the parts from the dealer because they may not be available aftermarket

Your idle speed solenoid is probably gummed up. remove it and spray it with carb cleaner, wipe clean. Also clean the hole that it came out of as well. use the spray carb cleaner to clean the throttle plate and bore.

Do i have adjustable hubs on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 magnum 2 wheel drive

your hubs are NOT adjustable

well.. you could tighten your torsion bars and that will lift the front of your truck up, but i wouldnt recomend it because

1. it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. the torsion bar could snap while adjusting it and fling through the cab.

2. Your vehicle will ride extremely rough.

Water spill coming from engine area

You should let the engine cool off, and then fill the radiator to the top. Start the engine, and then look from underneath the vehicle to see where exactly the fluid is coming from. Could be a hose, the radiator, or the water pump

2004 Dodge Ram 1500, 4.7L V8, rattle/knock

If it's doesn't sound like it's your engine which i am thinking not. Check to see if there any heat shield that may have come lose, like the heat shield to the spark plug wire or heat sheild along the down pipe.
Good luck and hope this was the rattling your taking about as it heats up it expands and tighten's up.
