My Tundra has an intermittent starting problem. Yesterday, when turning the key, it just clicked. I charged the battery, tried jumping and even cleaned, reinstalled and tightened the battery connections. (Battery and alternator seem ok, as electrical systems are working. Lights are bright and don't seem to dim preceptably even when attempting to start. After all work with the battery I attempted to start agein, still only clicking. This monring without doing anything else, it started just fine.
You have a defective starter solenoid, the heavy contacts are burned in side the solenoid.

Welcome to Fixya
Check the starter cable. This usually happens when there is a loose cable connection. Try this step when you experience tha problem again. Get a hammer, or equivilent, and find the starter, most likely from underneath, and hit it firmly a couple of times, not a full on swing, just a nice strong tap. Try to hit harder if it doesn't work on the 1st try. Just don't break anything. If it STARTS after you TRY THIS, then its DEFINITELY your starter..... the solenoid is stuck. Time for a new starter.
