Question about 2000 Isuzu Rodeo
When I was driving my holden rodeo my oil light went on and I had a loss of power intermittendtly.I stopped the car and checked the oil and it was dry.I started the car again but heard a knocking sound so rang my wife who brought me 5ltrs of oil. After putting in the oil and waiting 5min I started the car the knocking sound came and went and the oil light disapeared when I put my foot on the accelerater but went back on when not accelerating, I drove home very slowly with the engine making low knocking sounds. It felt like the car didnt have a lot of power but they may have been because I didnt want to drive too fast. Is it a head gasket or what?
This sounds like severe engine damage, do to loss of internal lubrication (no oil). That's the bad thing about 'idiot' warning lights, they come on when u have a severe problem, and the damage is done. You are going to probably have to purchase a used engine from an auto salvage yard, or purchase a re -manufactured engine. Sorry for the bad news, this is about as bad as it gets.
