Question about 1995 Buick LeSabre
I have a 95 Buick Lesabre that bucks or surges when you are going 45-50 and the car is going up a hill or underload. The plugs, wires, alternator, battery and EGR valve have all been replaced and yet the problem is still happening. Happens no matter how much gas is in the tank. Car has approximately 80,000 miles on it. Does anyone have any ideas?
Had same kind of problem on my '96 with 254,000 miles only it finally got to where it was not driveable at any speed. Ended up being the fuel pump in the gas tank. You've gotta drop the tank to get to it. You'll need to make sure you clean the accumulated rust and other crud out of the tank. Suggest replacing the pump AND the screen AND the fuel filter while you are at it. All together, the parts ran me about $160.

Does the check engine come on? does the check engine light flash during the surge? It sounds like a spark misfire to me. ignition coil packs can cause this problem but it will have to be checked out by a technican to avoid hit and miss diagnostics.
