95 Buick Lesabre bucking

I have a 95 Buick Lesabre that bucks or surges when you are going 45-50 and the car is going up a hill or underload. The plugs, wires, alternator, battery and EGR valve have all been replaced and yet the problem is still happening. Happens no matter how much gas is in the tank. Car has approximately 80,000 miles on it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey, I have a 95 lesabre as well and recently it started with dimming lights, slow turn signals and engine bucks, stalls, and even a cutout. Had the battery replaced, as well as the alternator and it still continued. Finally, took it to a diamond in the ruff mechanic and he tracked a voltage spike in the power feed to the alternator. He traced it back to the computer and it was still doing it at that point which means I have a malfuncioning computer that needs replaced. Out of courtesy, he bypassed the feed to the alternator and tied into the fuel injector power feed (i think thats what is was) which acts the same as the alternator feed in that it supplies 12v of power when the ignition is turned on. This temp fix did it and am now experiencing no problems. Going to replace the computer this weekend. Hope this helps.

Had same kind of problem on my '96 with 254,000 miles only it finally got to where it was not driveable at any speed. Ended up being the fuel pump in the gas tank. You've gotta drop the tank to get to it. You'll need to make sure you clean the accumulated rust and other crud out of the tank. Suggest replacing the pump AND the screen AND the fuel filter while you are at it. All together, the parts ran me about $160.

Does the check engine come on? does the check engine light flash during the surge? It sounds like a spark misfire to me. ignition coil packs can cause this problem but it will have to be checked out by a technican to avoid hit and miss diagnostics.

Need a new mirror

I think what you actually need is a mirror to fit a 10 year old Buick.
If it has to be new, the dealer will track it down for you and you will pay hundreds. On the other hand if you go look around on ebay motors, craiglist, or phone local junkyards you most likely can find one that will match and suffice for about 20 bucks and a body shop can stick it on for about 50 bucks.

Change the Filter and Fluid in the Transmission and see if this helps. If it doesn't then you will need to have the transmission serviced at a shop.

Transmission Bucks on hills

Replace plugs and wires at the same time and this will fix it. It is not a transmission problem. Common customer problem at a dealership I worked at. Carbon tracking on plugs and wires will cause this , so replace both at the same time to fix.

Which advice to believe ?

Go with #2 It is less expensive and you will be able to see if there is something wrong with your tranny versuos dropping a couple thousand dallars and just throwing parts at it. Sounds like #1 is a part thrower just looking for a quick buck.

95 geo tracker runs fine but bucks or surges at 25/30 mph slow cruise accelerates like rocket.

8valve or 16v valves, big diff !

bucks, needs a tune up.
surges are too lean .
for surge check fuel pressure.

i think you mean Wide Open throttle has full power
right.?

if yes , the fuel pressure is ok
and the MAF is bad on a 16v
or you have an air leak.

tell more , get more.
