I have a 2003 Vue 6cyl AWD with almost 75,000 miles on it. It seems to be running perfect when lately I would shut it off while shopping, etc. and when I get back in it it will do nothing but turn over. We just put a new battery in about 3 weeks ago. The first time it did it, it started after the 4th time of trying, but this last time it took several minutes and 2 shots of starting fluid in the air cleaner to get it to start. It ran perfectly all the way home after that. I have not driven it since as I don't want to get stranded somewhere. What could be the problem????

i own a 2003 vue. it happened to me and finally the tranny went. it was a sealed transmission(cvt)do you have a dipstick to check your transmission fluid.if you dont, get saturn to look at it.a new one is 6000.00.Just hope you have a warranty.
You don't need a service of any kind at this mileage, u do need to have this diagnosed for worn front end parts and a full electronic engine control diagnostic, but i will say this the fuel and air filter needs to be changed every 30,000 miles, it this hasn't been done do so, also the transmission needs a fluid and filter change every 60,000 miles, check tire pressure once a month, all these maintainence items affect performance.
I currently own a 2005 saturn vue and also a 2002 saturn vue. My 2005 began making the same whistling sound around 36000 miles, I let it go and let it go. Finally it got so bad I could not deal with it any longer, I have a great mechanic and he automatically point out the carrier bareing I had it replaced and my car is very very peaceful...... :) Hope this helps.
