I have had my Chrysler LHS (1999) at a dealership for over a year with power steering problems. They gave it back to me and said they couldn't fix it because they can't figure out what it wrong. The whole power steering system has been replaced and consists now of all new parts but I still cannot steer it properly when it is at a slow speed. This is my only car, I'm pregnant, I work out of town, and I cannot afford a new car! What do I do?

My battery died and my key is now stuck in ignition i replaced battery and still cant get it out

I have a 97 LHS that does the same thing. If its the steering colum gear shifter stick it stiffens up over time. While putting car in Park......assist it by pushing the stick towards the dash to make sure car is fully in park.

Power steering hard to turn at idle only on 2000 chrysler lhs.power steering rack and pinion and pump already replaced.

start with checking your tire pressure if thats ok check the belt for proper tension and fluid level and last that your idle speed is set correctly while the vehicle is idle in drive not idle in park hope this helps.

My chrysler voyager 2lt got problems with power steering fluid full but making whining noises and very heavy

Belts tight? If so check your steering rack unit for leaks (wetness) around ends of seals. Also where rack is mounted for loose bushings that rack mount in. Look sort of like stablizer bushings. Possible causes would be bad Steering Rack or pump itself.

Power steering fluid leaking somewhere. not from reservoir. vehicle is a 1997 Chrysler LHS 3.5L

It is either a hose, the rack, or the P/S pump. you will need to look with your eyes to find it.

Power steering leak

Depends on the part to be replaced. The pump is pretty straightforward with the correct tools and costs about $60 to $100 if you do it yourself (I own an Intrepid, similar to the LHS and I work on it a lot) . If it's a metal hose, this is going to be about $30 to $50 or more and will need a flare nut wrench, along with other hand tools. If this is attached to the steering rack, you may have to move other parts out of the way. This is not a hard job either, but could be time consuming and be careful not to cross thread the fittings.
