Question about 1994 Chevrolet Camaro
When I start the car it idles at 3k rpms and never comes down below that no matter how long I drive it. If I unplug a vacuum hose on top of the manifold the idle becomes very rough. What should I be looking for on this? I thought maybe a sensor or vacuum hose was bad but not really sure because I have never actually worked on this car before.
Mine did the same i dont know it will fix yours but i replaced the tps and reset the comp.and it was fine.(pulled the bat. post for 30 mins)

If you are not the original owner then the previous owner may have set the idle high, if you take off the throttle body there should be a little screw that will set the idle by keeping the intake valve open more if you unscrew it then the idle rpm will lower

Listen for a hissing sound you could have a vacum leak . spray carb cleaner around the thodle body and the intake to see if you have a bad gasket or just needs to be tighting.also check the choke and throdle pationing sensor it could be stuck open!
