One of your courtesy light switch's is defective, it can be in any of the five doors (rear hatch has 2), Ford can determine which one (courtesy light switch) is at fault by using a NGS (New Gen Star Tester) to monitor the switches through the Generic Electronic Module of your truck, these switches are attached to the door latch assembly and are time consuming to replace, so the Ford tester is the cheapest option.

I support Mr. Dannis for his answer and also try to check your display screen by FORD professionals to check out is it a real or false fault.

E2@yahoo.comi have a 2003 lincoln navigator . the information center keep saying door ajar. i thank a sensor is. where are they located in the door jam?

The door switches are usually located at the front of the door jamb where the hinges are located. Look for a pin-type button sticking out of the jamb. This is called a plunger switch. If you can locate the switch and disconnect the wiring harness, you can use a paper-clip to jumper the wires together to test for a bad switch. Usually a bad switch will cause the interior lights to stay illuminated until the timer tells them to turn off. If this is the case in your situation, you probably have a bad switch/

The door ajar light comes on when all doors are closed

Has car been damaged ? A pushbutton in a door well is likely problem. Door is not pushing the button in far enough to open it's contacts therefore, computer reads it as door ajar.
Try taping small piece of plastic or metal (one door at a time) in the area that contacts the pushbutton, Then close all doors. Continue thru all doors to find the guilty one.
It's possible that the pushbutton switches may not be visible (mounted out of sight) and use some sort of lever to actuate.

How to repair a door ajar of a Lincoln Navigator 2003. Looks like this does not allow the suspention works properly

try spraying silcone spray in each door latch even the rear hatch door. i have done this before and it has fixed it before. the reason is that dash will get on the sensor and make the light come on.

Door sensor 2003 lincoln navigator where is it and how do you fix it

There should be a switch in the door frame which the door pushes in when it is closed. Sounds like it's loose or pushed back into the frame.

Receiving door ajar indication on 2003 Lincoln Navigator

Sounds like you have a Faulty Door Switch. When you open the door there is a Small Button on the Side closest to the Inside of the Truck. Push this in with your Finger and see if they don't go off. Some of these are Movable so you can adjust them in and out.

Door ajar light

The sensor for the lights is in the door latch spray some GOOD penetrant in the door latch (WD 40 IS NOT A PENETRATING OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) open and shut the door several times after you let the penetrant soak a bit Liquid wrench, PB Blaster, BG Penetrant, are good
