Car stoped running ck/time belt not broke,fuel comes out of

Time belt not broke /fule pump good fliter good / it look like coil pack is fine it seems to befireing turns over but will not start and when i opened the hood oil had a mystry cant really find a leak my be by pcv valve only about 1 qt low wtf do i need a code reader????????????????????????

Check cable from coil pack to ditribuiter cap cuold be broken internally.REPLACE

You may need a scan tool to find out why it died but the oil could be a number of things do you have to add oil alot

First step is check fuel pressure. There should be a port on the fuel rail that you can uncap and put a gauge. (if you don't have a gauge you can push in and see if there is pressure. The fuel will squirt. Turn key on and push in like you would to remove air from a tire.) IF there is no pressure, you begin checking fuel pump. Start with fuse, if fuse is good and you find power at the connection to the pump then suspect bad pump. Most of the cars I have towed in over the years that needed a fuel pump said exactly what you said. "Ran fine, (I stopped to get gas, parked it, etc.) and when I went out the next time it would not start."

Spark is a second think, but rarely when you have a direct coil pack. Check the fuse for the coil pack.

what about the fuel filter? its usually located under the brake booster where you put the brake fluid in its either under or around that erea somtimes the fuel filter will be clogged also check to see if its getting spark usually you can take the plug out they have a tester for this that you can buy at autozone or checkers or oriellys auto parts store and make sure your getting spark if not it could be bad distributor or cap and rotor check the cap to make sure all the points are there should be 4 or 6 make sure not broken also check the rotar for breakage or rust if its good and is getting spark possible fuel problem with the filter plugged up or possible fuel rail plugged or if you just recently tuned up maybe you have the wrong fireing order need to get a diagram of the spark plug wires if this is all good possible timing belt broke check to make sure the timing belt is good probably do this first so you dont ruin the engine if it is broke

check for fuel and fire check fuses if its comeing from fuel it can be the fuel pump if its comeing from fire it can be a coil pack check timeing belt for being broke

have you changed the fuel filter?
,also it may be vapor locking,next time it does it losen the fule cap, then if it starts right up replace it the vent holes could be pluged!!

1997 crown victoria is haveing a hard time starting/ stalls... rev up stalls... could it be coil packs? or fuel pump? once it is started and been running for the day it will usually start without problem.


its not likley to be coil packs or it would not start and run at all,, it could be fuel pump, or its letting the fuel run back to the tank when its been standing so when you try starting its running on whats in the carb untill the pump brings up more fuel all the way from the tank??? have a look at the fuel tank is the vent blocked???? try leaving the tank filler cap off? naughty yes! but if the vents blocked the car will run just fine after doing this,,, have a look at the fule pipes any holes in them witch would also let fuel run back to the tank and also let in air so the pump is pushing air as well as fuel and working twice as hard as it need to,,i cant think of any more right now,

We have changed the crank shaft sensor and the cam shaft sensor and plugs and cadlac convertor and fuel pump and our car still misses real bad every now and then it might straight out for few min you have...


Well, it sounds more like a timing belt issue than a coil pack. When you have gas applied and the engine running a little higher than idle RPM it seems fine because the belt is under tension and holding the timing when you back off the gas the belt gets loose and it runs like it is out of time. If it runs fine at first and starts acting up when it gets warm it could be the coil pack but I would check the timing and see if it is erradict when idling to make sure you don't have a timing belt issue. If that breaks while you are driving you will have to repair the head as well as replace the timing belt.

1997 chevy silverado 1500 350 vortech, new fule pump not working


before you drop tank again, check fuses & relay.then disconnect fuel line @ filter turn key to on position should hear fuel pump run and get gas stream out of line. if no flow from line new pump faulty be sure & remove negative battery cable first good luck.
