if you have auto daytime lights and they don't work then your radio will not work either. trust me on that. you have one lead to 12v source and acc lead that is wired to auto daytime lights which when you open your door radio shuts off.
assuming info screen is in the factory radio couple ways of doing this first and easiest is leave factory radio in place and find a location for new radio (in glove box, under dash, (under seat if have remote) then just remove speaker wires from factory radio and install on aftermarket radio then run power and ground to aftermarket radio
option two relocate factory radio to trunk or under seat (problem with this method is u have to look in trunk or under seat to read gas millage or info ) u will need to lengthen the data wires and run them to the new location of factory radio
you may need to enter a security code to get the radio to operate, but there should be a display saying code or antitheft on the radio screen, if theres not then i would start by checking all the fuses even the fuse box under the hood,
call or go to your local chevy dealer and get along side a mechanic .they know the common probs and recalls on late models.malibu and impala have alot of factory recalls on them.go on line and
search engine malibu recalls (your year)and about 500 results will pertain to your car,not year necessarily, but same car.pay attn to model year changes.i.e. like 2001-2006. same body. Gino R
