Question about Mazda 323

My mazda 323 revsunder1000 revs and idles when car is cold runs not to bad but not perfect but when engine is hot it runs very bad it feels like im driving a automatic it dies then cuts in again it feels like the car has a stutter

Sounds like air flow meter but best to put in garage on computer

I have a 1989 Mazda 323, when cold engine idles very high, when very cold it idles so high that rev limiter kicks in, and it revs up, limiter kicks in, revs up limiter kicks in, once it warms up idle drops...


Have it looked at by a dealer,iam not sure here but i think you have a vacumn leak like the feed pipe to the servo split but really you need a mechanic who works on these cars day in day out and they will go straight too the problem for you

My 323 starts buts wont idle, it will run if you pick up the revs but once you let go of the accelerator it dies. please help


if its carby engine has the idle solenoid stopped working or lost power very common
single wire soleniod can be checked for power with test light
power=ign. on/run
no power=off/no idle
or has some one adjusted carby settings?

sounds like torque converter but also check shifter alignment.

it sounds as though your head gasket has blowen. take it to a Mazda garage and get a compression and leakage test done. Hold your breath because head gaskets are expensive.
