    can yu be more specific, what is the problem with the bushing for your fly wheel??

Pressure plate torque


I have seen this problem many times, people change clutches but don't machine the fly wheel. this causes a shudder or the other thing is a crack in the fly wheel or pressure plate, sorry but transmission out fly wheel off to be machined, new clutch and pressure plate

2002 jeep liberty has an intermittent starting problem. The starter makes a grinding noise usually when started and has for a while. could these two be related?


the starter grinds because the bushings at each end are worn .or if the engine has been removed and replaced,, the person didnt replace the spacers from the starter and bell housing which keeps the starter gears from going too deep into the fly wheel makeing a grinding sound. the intermittent starting problem could just be the check valve on your fuel system bleeding back . need more info.

Have 2006 chevy 3500. 6.0 litre new battery 16 days ago even after installing new battery seems to have trouble starting like a ground prob. Was told prob starter bushings. It is a dump truck that gets...


Being started that many times per day, chances are that bushings are worn as are all the internal components. You could rebuild it but to do that correctly likely the parts would cost you more than a completely rebuilt unit. A good rebuild includes new end bushings, brushes, solenoid and bendix drive. The only original parts should be the housing, field coils and armature. The symptoms you posted sound more like a worn brush or solenoid internal contact. When testing voltages, your radio and lights are not a really good indicator of battery condition or charging system operation. Always use a good volt or multi-meter to do testing.

My b/f has a 1990 Fleetwood Cadillac...He believes the fly wheel may be broken...Where is the fly wheel and are they easy to replace?


the fly wheel is located at the back of the engine block. You will have to drop the transmission to fix it. The hardest part of this job is dropping the transmission. the fly wheel is held on by 8 bolts. bery simple. If your b/f is not a mechanic, he can get a book called the Chiltons manual for that car. It will give him step by step instructions on how to replace it, and what tools are needed.

check to make sure the starter is seated correctly to the bell housing also check for a cracked! nose cone on the starter as well and make sure the front nose casting bushing isn;t worn out and make sure they sold you the correct tooth count flywheel

Will not shift into grears rite


sounds like a clutch problem, more than likely a worn bush, wich should be found on the clutch cable under the bonnet, it is a rubber ring wich smooths shifts. if the bush seems okay then you more than likely have a 'stick' than a 'slip'. clutch problem. this means your clutch is having trouble disconnecting from the fly wheel. however dont rule out a 'slip'. whatever the problem is i suggest replacing the clutch as it is obviously quite a serious problem.

Clutch kit for a 99 rodeo 5 speed 3.2 v-6


replace the complete clutch assembly which includes the disk, pressure plate and the release bearings, some of them also have a polot bearing / bushing, replace it while you are at it make sure that the fly wheel is nto overheated or scored if it is replace the fly wheel or atleast machine the fly wheel in a machine shop, and replace the rear main engine oil seal. when every thing is out and dont forget to rate me please

You more than likely need a new fly wheel, your fly wheel and starter are probably not making contact
