yes but 4 wire is
yellow is left
green is right
brown is tail lights
white is ground and very important so make sure you have a good one.
this is for the trailer plug from car and for the trailer
as for what color the wires are from your car ???

Dark green with red wires the left stop turn signal Dark green with brown is the right stop turn signal Black with yellow is the tail lights.

If it's wired properly, one thing that does come to mind is to replace standard signal flasher with a HD flasher. (heavy Duty)

I've got an 05 model with the 3.3 and given what I know I wouldn't pull anything over 2k lbs a small utility trailer with a riding mower or a small 14-16 ft boat or wave runner would be the extent of it without having a heavy duty transmission, a seperate trans fluid cooler, and an elec braking device

Trailer end; Red=Brake
Brown=Running lights
Yellow=Left
Green=Right
White=Ground
You will need a turn and brake signal box IF, you have different bulbs for brake and turn lamps. If the brake and turn bulbs are one(red)lens than no box will be required. Thanks, Dana

I had the same problem with my 2002 Silverado last summer when I first bought my boat and was getting the trailer ready to go. Like an idiot, I rewired the boat trailer on that side before I decided to look at the owner's manual. The pickup has separate fuses for right and left side of trailer. They're located in the big box in the engine compartment. I replaced the 10 or 15 size fuse and haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps!

check fuse # 2 in the relay box up front and look for a "park lamp relay control" in the control module.

Do u have a 4,5,6,or 7 way (wire) system? If it's 4 way it allows basic hookup for 3 lighting functions:
GREEN is right turn signal and stop light, YELLOW is left turn signal and stop light, BROWN is license, and side marker lights, WHITE is ground.

5way is same as above, but adds a BLUE wire for brake signal or aux. power. Its used on pop up campers, utility and boat trailers.

6way (rectangle plug) green=right turn signal, yellow=left turn signal, brown=taillight, white=ground, red and blue can be used for brake control or auxilary. Used on small motorcycle trailers, snowmobile trailers, utility trailers.

6way Round Plug, same as above, but blue is electric brakes, and black (sometimes red,) 12v; note:sometimes red/black need to be reversed w/ blue to suit the trailer.

7way adds an additional pin at plug in for 12volt power or back up lights. Whoa! hope that answers your question w/out confusing u. Let me know if u need more info.
