Question about 2005 Renault R5
When the revs are high or your doing 80ish on the motor way the warning light "check emmissions" comes on, then if you dont slow down immediately it jerks and other warning lights come on and the car loses power. I know another lady you spoke to said she had a similar situation and she got it fixed for 45 quid. Do you know what the problem is and how the other lady got it fixed cos my garage have charged me 120quid over 4 diferent times so far and still not fixed it and they seem no closer (its a renault garage !) PLease help me I am desperate. Thank you

Possible accesory power relay staying on due to an internal fault. It is above the fuses in the glovebox. Try sitting in the car, locking it then giving the relay a tap

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls

Most likely to be a faulty resistor block, which has 3 resistors and a thermal fuse controlling fan speeds 1,2 and 3, maximum speed 4 by-passes the resister block. It may also be poor electrical connections to the resistor block caused by overheating. Renault ask for approximately £350 to carry out repairs, a replacement resistor block will cost £50. If you decide to carry out the repairs yourself, be advised that if you are not competent to carry out such work you, could cause electrical damage or worse an electrical fire.

this exact problem on a megane coupe is caused by a small air pipe that connects to a 2 inch wide black box that is located under the bonnet near the windscreen on the passangers side. the zigzag light indicates an electrical fault (in this case lack of compression and will affect your revs) if you find this pipe and it has snapped off. the reason for this may be that your engien is lose and moves. grab the engien with 2 hands and see if you can wobble it with allot of play. if so your engien mountings need replaceing. you may also experiance juddering in low gears
