You say the fan quit working. Do you mean it's not heating the air coming out of the vents, or no air is coming out? If no air is coming out of your vents, replace your blower moter. It's not too hard to replace. It's under the dash on the passenger side. You will need to carefully remove the white plastic wheel and put it on the new one. (about $50)

You are having a heater Core Issue. You need to change it. You also need to check your antifreeze to make sure that your thermostat is okay. If your antifreeze dont look green, its too old. It could Lock up your thermostat and make your engine overheat. Another thing you can check out is your seal on your intake manifold. Is your car overheating? If you do change the seal on your intake manifold, you need to change them all by buying a head gasket set because its cheaper than buying the parts individually. I hope this information was helpful

My 2002 jeep cherokee laraedo is overheating when idling. The radiator fan stopped working. I tested the fan and it is ok. Where do I look for the problem.

You need to find out if the fan relay is good, pull the relay out for the fan and check to see if you are in fact getting voltage to the fuse/relay box at that location. But you could have a bad temp sensor, the fan would not know to kick on at a certain engine temperature. before replacing parts, it's best to find out for sure you're not losing voltage somewhere. The parts are not too expensive but no need in changing good parts. It's hard to really pin point the problem with out being there to test. Good Luck

Fan on the ac stopped working. Were is the resistor located.

I can't tell you where is the resistor but usually at maximum speed the switch bypass the resistor pack since there is no need of resistor at full speed, so if the fan stop completely, there is a good chance the fan is blown if it is not working at full speed.

Take a voltmeter and test for voltage at the fan connector with the speed fan switch on, you will be able to test all speed and if you do have voltages the fan is just dead.

Over heating in stop and go traffic-1998 jeep cherokee 4.0 litre

If the electric cooling fan is inoperative, check the 15A fuse in the junction block and the 40A fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) with a 12 volt test lamp or DVOM. Refer to the inside of the PDC cover for the exact location of the fuse.

Fan resistor

I had the same issue on my 1999 Grand Cherokee. I replaced the fan motor which was only 68.00 from Auto Zone and the fan relay sensor which is located behind the front left side of the bumper, which was about 30.00 from Autozone. I would suggest testing the motor with the 12V (fused). You can test it with your car battery, if it works, then i would suggest replacing your fan motor sensor, behind the front left side of the bumper.
