SOURCE: Shake in steering wheel

I believe you need your disk brake rotors turned to be true again or have them replaced. Whe you use your brakes a lot and kit puddles of cold water then it will warp the rotors which will cause the violent shaking. You may not feel it in the brake pedal even if it is warped rotors. If you don't think you have warped rotors then you should be very careful driving it because it will probably be in the steering sector arm or the idler arm on the steering shaft.

I'm driving on the highway at a good speed suddenly because I have to slow down/stop the front of my car shakes a bit but i feel almost like a kicking back in my bbrakes.

I would check brake rotors and then check front suspension bushings. All warped rotors I've experienced will cause the steering wheel to shake too to some degree. I had some bad bushings in my front suspension on my 300zx that caused vibration under braking.

1999 volkswagon beetle, steering wheel shakes sometimes at higher speeds and brakes tend to grab calipers. But if i stop car and turn off car and restart car, all is fine. that is until it happens again....

Have a wheel alignment and suspension check . Check brake pads thickness and disc rotor condition. Shaking at speed indicates wheel alignment and worn tie rod ball joints and/ suspension badly worn

Knocking on suspension

This problem could be a number of things, the best thing to do is to check the front suspension. first jack up the car , front of car with e- brake on, the first thing is to make sure the wheels are not loose, i have seen loose lug nuts cause this problem, shake wheel and then check lug nuts that hold wheel on.

Grab hold of one wheel and shake it in and out, this is done with hands on the left and right of tire, and then top and bottom of tire, you are looking for play in the steering components ,
Next you will need to check the ball joints, to this you will need a floor jack, place the jack under lower control arm, this will take pressure off the joints by compressing the spring, then with a bar placed under the tire lift bar and have someone watch for movement in the ball joints.this is to be done on both sides.

If there is play an these parts then replacement is needed but keep in mind a little play may not cause the clunk you hear, there would have to be a lot of play. the last thing in the front suspension would be the control arm bushings or sway bar bushings. these you will need to look at closely..

The steering wheel starts to shake when I make slow sharp turns. Usually when parking or in aparking lot. Power steering fluid level is fine and fluid doesn't look dirty. Suggestions?

a steering wheel shake with the wheel fully turned usually indicates a seizing constant velocity joint (axle). it can also be accompanied by a clicking noise while turning at higher speed. this is easy to confirm. raise and support the front of the vehicle and put in neutral. turn the wheels by hand with steering wheel pointed straight ahead. there should be minimal resistance. then try rotating the wheels with the steering wheel turned all the way to one side then the other. if you feel any extra tightness or binding, you indeed have a seizing joint. if the axles look ok visibly, you will need to remove the axles to confirm which side is the problem. good luck!

When i hit the brakes or go over 60 miles the wheels will start to shake

It sounds like you may have more than one problem here. First I would investigate Front End Alignment and ALL Steering/Suspension components for excessive wear and/or looseness. Second I would Inspect the Brake Rotors and Pads for uneven wear. Third I would check the Tires for uneven wear and balance. Many things can cause these symptoms: Worn out Ball Joints, defective Shock Absorbers/Struts. Worn out Tie Rod Ends, Idler Arm, even the Steering Gear Box can be part of the problem. Brake Rotors and Tires can be out of Balance with either one causing the problem over 60 MPH. I strongly suggest having your vehicle inspected by an ASE Certified Front End and Brake specialist immediately. It is very dangerous to drive a vehicle with these symptoms.

Power steering and suspension

In a lot of GM and Chevys the intermediate steering link will lose grease and cause a clunk-like feeling while turning and braking. There is a TSB for such a problem. The dealer may still warranty the repair. You can take your truck into a local shop and they'll shake down the front end for about 1/2 hour labor to see if anything is wrong. About 80% of the time a pull is caused by a lateral tire pull or even a bad tire. Check your air pressures as well.

check your upper control arms, does it happen when you step on the brakes or just when driving, you might need a balance of all your wheels or the tires you have could be bad.
