Question about 1997 Volkswagen Golf

Electric Windows are stuck open

I beleive that the fuse to the electric windows has blown on my VW Golf GL Tdi P reg.
Could you tell me which fuse position I should check.

    all electric windows where open in the morning. i used full closure and took out the key. then they opened again jerky. took out fuse 14 and then put it back rear passenger doesnt work now

    any ideas......?

The fuse for the windows is number 14, It may be labeled as back up lights. Its a 10 amp fuse.

Please check fuse if has some blown. If blown forsure have the causes either wiring shorted or unit damage

The wiper motor may be bad and is in the same circuit, disconnect the motor to test or replace the motor as needed.

try the 10a fuse for the light inside,the symbol on the fuse panel is a light with a line on the top, it controls alarm and windows too

Mk3 golf when central locking is activted the electric windows go

you have just found this is a standard feature of all vw/audi/seat/skoda cars
unlock/hold key over,the windows will go down
lock/hold key over the windows will go up
then unlock the car with the remote,car reset.
sit in car with engine on,switch off engine(do not open any door)driver can open/close any window(you can even put your hand into window frame and it will rollback,all on its(not for fun)
if windows rollback after you have used button to close them you may have sticky runners/rubbers.
this is not in the hand book,tell all your friends.....only a german car.....

Cannot locate fuses for electric windows on mk3 vw golf cabriolet.os rear went down but will not go up.when switch is operated no power is drawn.

Look above the relays under the dash.There are a few blade type fuses there one of those is the power window fuse.

98 VW Golf GL, Dashboard lights out!

Remove dash and make sure main electrical plug is snapped in place .Also look for a lose ground wire.

Vw golf driver electric sunroof

take the cover near the lights off for starters, use the allen key attached the the motor to wind the sunroof back into place, check fuses?
