Question about 1998 Isuzu Rodeo

High oil Pressure 3.2Lt quad cam Holden Rodeo Australia

I have a 1998 3.2Lt quad cam V6 Rodeo, built for Australia. I recently fitted a electric oil pressure gauge. At idle hot it has 55 PSI and 2000 RPM hot it is nearly 90 PSI. When cold it is obviously much higher. Could cam shaft bearing housing blockage cause this? Any idea of what the problem could be?

The engine is on LPG and has 217,000 kms, never had a problem. It was recently that someone told me that the Cam drive housing seizes up due to lack of oil pressure. I have investigated a seized unit and seen the oil lubrication hole in this housing is very tiny. The engine I looked at also had a heap of sludge buildup which I believe has caused the small oil hole to block. This is what made me think it was partially blocked by the high oil pressure reading, however I will check with a good mechanical master gauge, I have a new Autometer capillary gauge so will try that.

    Thanks will keep you posted.

The problem is the gauge, oil pressure readings are stable and normal using capillary type oil gauge. The electrical gauge obviously attracts a lot of electrical interference from other circuitry.

    Cheers

I think your gauge is faulty...do a mechanical test of oil pressure somewhere in main port and use pressure gauge known good to compare against your electrical one you installed before freakin out about the high psi #'s you think you are getting........how old (mileage) is this motor?

they sell a cabin filter for the rodeo 2006 -2008

an ebay seller makes a cabin filter for the 2006 to 2008 holden rodeos
$50....... a cartridge form
needs a stanley knife to cut into the blower fan box casing to fit their filter
you have to remove the glove box to get to it

filter seller suggests you search for the rodeo fitment

NEW CLUTCH SLIPPING ON 2004 V6 HOLDEN RODEO

did you bleed the hydralic clutch system on this vehicle? = air in system or not bleed properly.
most of the flywheels for this model were not to be machined...... however it is ok to machine these only slightly but you must machine the surface the clutch plate contacts with the same amount as the outer raised section the pressure plate bolts to.
new flywheels have painted stamped writing saying do not machine...so if hydralic system is ok find out about flywheel.
also may pay to check clamping force of pressure plate most clutch places can do this or some workshops that is if fingers on pressure plate are all at the same height, not broken or cracked..

I have a 1983 Toyota Hiace Commuter Van with a 3Y motor in it. I want to put a V6 in it. Which V6 will fit in the engine bay

A Toyota v6 out of a hilux 4runner will go in and be about half again the power and torque. Should be able to fit a 2wd transmission off the van to it. Or here in Nz and Australia the Holden 3.8 v6 is a very popoular conversion. Use the holden trans and modify the drive shaft to suit. Holden v6 is a rear wheel drive version of the Buick v6. Also seen Toyota 1UZ and Chev v8s fitted in without cutting metalwork, so room is not as much of an issue as you would think!
