Question about 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
Although we're changing the oil at the old standard of every 3,000 miles, this occurs before the 'change oil' indicator comes up on the dash panel. After a while (about 200 miles on the new oil change) the indicator light comes on. Is there a quick and dirty reset that can be done by the owner? By the way, this is on an 04 Colorado.
What we did is hold down the trip odometer until it reset to zero. After that the message should go away. At least that is what it did for us.

TURN IGN ON
PRESS THE TRIP BUTTON REPEATEDLY UNTIL OIL LIFE IS DISPLAYED WHERE YOUR MILEAGE DISPLAYS
IT WILL FLASH OIL LIFE THEN RESET HOLD BUTTON UNTIL YOU HEAR THREE CHIMES
SWITCH OFF IGN
