My 1993 ford explorer recently started bogging down when i am driving. one minute it is fine and the next thing i know im not moving. i can hear my engine reving, i just dont go any where. but if i pull over and shut my car off i can start it back up and go for a little while longer. any suggestions on what might be causing this.
This is not a bogging down problem if the engine is reving up it sounds like you have a very badley slipping tourk converter or you have a band in your tranny slipping and that is why you can go for a little while longer if you shut it off

with 117000miles buy a new ics valve and replace, its easy 2 bolts 1 gasket 1 wire to unclip.when you have the part in hand look for it on the throttle body near the black intake hose from the air filter.
Does Ford replaced the cruise control deactivation switch.

First thing i would check would be the fuel filter. Sometimes, when they first start to give problems, there is enough gas to keep them idling or driving around town, but when you get on the highway they starve for fuel.
