My check gauges light keeps coming on after about three miles of travel, engine indicator trys to go to hot, I have replaced the thermostat, oil pressure sensor and did a =n oil change, yet I keep get check gauges, I have noticed in the mornings the radiator is empty yet I cant find a leak, thinking it is the water pump, but not sure how to tell. Please Help!!

Better make sure the fan works. There is a switch on the radiator that turns the fan on when it gets to a certain temperature. It could be the fan or the switch. Your thermostat is not your cap, it's in a different location. (Usually at the engine end of the upper radiator hose) Get the leak check! A good garage can pressure test the system to see what leaks you might have.

Yes, this is very common problem of the northstar platform. Head bolts aluminum thread inside the engine block stretching. Although Cadillac improved it in 2000 year model, it persisted on a lot of cars. You will not see any water in oil, at least for the first 5-6 thousand miles, but it will get worse and worse every time, so aventually you will. Engine will "drink" your coolant and no kind of coolant additives will fix that. Especially big coolant loss will be if you floor your gas a lot. On the freeway however you can go for an about 100 miles before engine will consume most of the coolant and overheats. You need to fix the block, cadillac calls the proces "time sert" - they drill bigger holes in the block, thread it and put inside inserts with outer and inner threads, were your original head bolts will go. Dealer going to charge you $5500 for that, and most mecanics will charge around $3200. That is why so many people selling their caddys cheap on ebay saying that there is a coolant leak somewere. I bought two caddys like that. Now I can fix that kind of problem easy. I bought all of those expensive tools for time serting. And by the way, something I learn the hard way, even if you are mecanic but never ever rebuilded northstar before expect lots of problems and difficulties. Very complicated hi tech engine with balanser shauft. Parts are expensive too, upper set of guskets will cost you about $320 and if you buy all the lower seals too than $500. Piston rings $220 and good luck finding it in autozone. I guess it is time for you to find out how are those used car dealer shues fit you :-)
