Question about 1998 Jeep Wrangler
I'm afraid I got skrewed at the dealership, but maybe someone can double check and see if they did the right thing.
Story: So my Check Gauges Light went on and my charging indicator was low as well as my RPM and Speedometer going on the fritz. The dealership registered a PCM Internal Short and replaced the PCM as well as found a loss of communication to the IP Cluster and a wiring harness to the instrument panel cluster shorted and they replaced the harness to the IP Cluster. They fixed all that and gave it back to me last week. However as I was driving it, I noticed it driving stiffer than usual as I was pressing the brake and gas pedals and that the gauges were still a bit off, but not as fritzy as they were before. Then as I drove back my battery indicator went down to zero and the check gauges light went back on. Engine is running fine, no noises no nothing, but I'm really worried about my electrical problems. I took it back to the dealership, yelled at them and they later called me saying that the alternator was malfunctioning causing the battery to go low and my gauges to be a bit off. It doesn't sound right to me. Any advice?
If the alt.is bd, it will make your dash go crazy because now your running only on battery power. Not enough volts to run every electrical items
