The problem is every time I take off from a complete stop I have to manuely shift the transmission 1st,2nd and 3rd,and also there is no overdrive or passing gear (kick-down). This is with a transmission that I know works perfect in every aspect when I removed it from another truck that I owned.

Well the PCM is inside the truck behind the kick panel on the drivers side of the truck. The kick panel is what fits around the Pop Hood Lever inside the truck. To remove it first pop your hood and undo the single bolt that hold the wiring harness to the PCM. It is right on the firewall on the drivers side. After pull away the connector to make sure you have disconnected it from the PCM. Then, with the kick panel removed, there is one more bolt that is holding a bracket to the PCM, pull it and then pull the PCM from inside the truck towards you.

I have a Ford F 150 2007 v8 it needs a automatic transmission will a 2005 Ford F 150 transmission be compatible

I wouldn't be installing a used trans,
if that is why your asking

Rebuild yours

No reason to need a trans on a 7 to 8 year old vehicle

I would guess you never change the fluid every 2 to 3 years

Most Ford Transmissions have known problems, brand new,
& they are well know by the shops that rebuild them

So get it rebuilt & do all the updates or suffer the same fate
every 70 to 100,000 miles

You would have to ask a trans shop or have a dealer run some
number off the unit, to answer that

If you see different wiring, etc, then,no,unless it can be switched
over to the 2005 unit.

Is the other trans from the same motor & same type vehicle

These things are all computer controlled, you can't just assume
you can mix & match from one year to the next

How do I replace the shift control pack in transmission of 2001 ford Taurus SES?

Not sure what you mean. This may help. This is on the firewall, above the engine near the top center. Remember; for successful replacement, the same calibration code on the PCM must be used! PCM does control Trans but there are many sensors that feed this processor. Do you have a better description?

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Removal and Installation
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Remove the powertrain control module (PCM) electrical connector.

  1. Remove the PCM.
    • Remove the stud bolts.
    • Remove the cover and the PCM.

I got a ford 98 ford windstar, yet i got a transmission problem, since this transmission is not available in most of the wrecking yards i am wondering if i can replace ford windstar by Ford Turas/sable...

Never install a used trans from any salvage yard. Having been in the trans business, you only buy the trans or core to rebuild. Their someone elses worn out unit, most likely worse than yours.
Repair or rebuild yours, the only option,if you want reliability, long term.
I don't believe you have a ford unit, most likely the engine and trans is a mazda or some foreign piece,so no on the taurus trans.

Ford f-250 transmission problem.

The transmission is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module, swap out the PCM from the service truck and see what happens, if that doesn't do it then there is a wiring harness concern, have you run a test for trouble codes yest?
