Stereo wont work

At first the radio would cut out and a loud buzzing noise would come through the speaker, or when i start the car no radio then after awhile the buzzing noise (LOUD and you cant control the volume i would have to pull over and restart my car). It seemed at first when you tapped/hit the dash it would fix the problem but that stopped working after awhile. I don't know what do you think? Also what are your opions about ebay motors i found some stereos? Are they easy to install? Or should i just have the professionals do it (An audio place where i live said it would cost $400-$600 to put in a new stereo) need some advice i don't know a thing about car. Thanks

It sounds like a wire somewhere in the wires that run to the speakers is getting a short. Something very similar happened on my mothers car. I trouble shot it and eventually found out it was the stereo that needed replacing.
You can buy a new stereo anywhere that sells them. Be cautious of used as you never really know what you are getting. Installing a new stereo is not very difficult but you have to make sure you have everything you need. You can get everything you need at your local electronics store. Just go to the mobil audio section and tell them which stereo you want and that you need the stuff to install it. All the places around where I live have free instalation with the purchase of a new stereo. Most after market stereos will require a dash kit to fill in the space left over from the size difference between the factory stereo and the after market stereo.

My 2005 Accord's radio / CD player will not produce sound to the speakers, the display panel works fine. Sometimes a loud static sound will come from the speakers with no volume control, powering off gets...

The sound chip may have gone in the stereo, especially if someone has had it on very loud they sometimes blow, otherwise you have 2 speaker wires touching each other, that way you only get static noise, insidee the door they sometimes come free and touch the body

Check all your speaker wires first.

There is a major short somewhere, the hum you hear in the speaker
is the frequency of the DC electricity flowing through the speaker coils,do all four speakers hum or just one?Do you have a stock or aftermarket stereo?

Sounds like the speaker is blown - factory speakers are usually pretty cheaply made and not very high quality, so even normal listening volumes can destroy them - you don't have to crank the radio to blow them. If the speaker is on the rear deck, it may be accessible from inside the trunk - take a look there and see if it unbolts.

ENGINE WONT CRANK . BATTERY TERMINAL CLEANED, BATTERY CHARGED. HOOKED UP TO CHARGER WITH ENGINE START TURNED ON, STILL WONT DRANK BUT I GET A LOUD NOISE FROM SPEAKERS?

I do not know if it will help you now, but the problem that I had and I know someone else had with these same symptoms, no crank, but radio, headlights work, etc.

There is a wire cluster between the battery and the steering wheel. The positive wire (red) corroded from the inside out. You may not be able to see it without cutting the outer shell of this harness, but you will see the green oxidized copper powder where the problem is. What I did was cut out this length of wire and replace. You will find that there are other wires that will start corroding also.

Hope this helps!
