Question about 1998 Honda Civic
Last night, while I was at the road, my car just stopped responding to the accelerator. On the middle of the road, I had to turn the ignition off and turn it back on. After doing that, the car drove for another 2-3 mins before not responding to change in acclerator again.I had to turn the ignition off and back on again just to give it a shot if it drives.Nope it wont. This morning I called the mechanic and he pointed out transmission problem.
My question is, is it worth to spend $1500-2000 for a new transmission in a $3400 worth car. Should I dump the car. Should I replace it with a used transmission( from Junkyard or somewhere) for around $1000 or less. Not sure which is the best option.
Junk yard would be best cheaper around $550 that would b your best bet
