My 96 Grand Charokee sat for 3 years. I changed the battery, Distributer cap, rotor, and Wires. It still won't start? I started it up every few months for 1st 2 years. Then it just sat for another year with no starts. It's a 4.0 in line 6. I'm lost as what to do next....
What about the fuel, was it drained and the system flushed. Gas turns to goop after this long and will barely burn.
I did not ask if it is getting fuel i asked if drained out all the old fuel and flushed the lines, 3 years year old gas turns to gunk and will barely burn. Also you need to run an OBD1 fault code test of the electronics to see if any codes are in the system. The test you have done means zip, don't throw away good money on a coil, they seldom fail..

Quite possible you have a bad ignition coil. As coil heats up it breaks down and will not return to normal till it cools down. Check for spark the next time this happens. If spark is weak or not there, it warrants testing or replacement.

do a compression test on cylinder 5 & 6 you could have intake leak.and a leaking head gasket or worn valves in those cylinders.

I do have power from Ignition to Distributer when cranking.
Its getting fuel, I just have no spark. I have power to Ignition coil to distributer. Just from there I still have no spark. I wonder if the coil is to weak? I only have a test light and it seems weak.
Mr, Weid Thank you for your ("I'll use the word>Remark<") Would like to be more colorfull. I'm trying to figure out 1st "First" why I'm not getting a spark to the plugs. I'm not gonna invest the time to drop the fuel tank and flush fuel lines. If, I can't get it to fire. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't put the cart in front of the horse. Once, And only if I can fix this Issue. Then I see the value of flushing the tank and fuel line.
Since, I don't have access to a OEM or Auto parts store/ Snap-On diag. Computer. I'll have to get it towed to a Auto parts store or Jeep dealer to have them look it over. I was just hoping someone here might have a straight answer. But I guess The "Goopy Fuel" May be the reason I don't have power from the distributer. "LOL"
