In the time I have been working on vehicles, I have never flushed a transmission. I went to college for mechanics, I've worked in shops and now I am a mechanic in the army. We consistantly are servicing military vehicles and the transmissions go through a beating having to push a 15,000 pound vehicle and we don't flush any of our transmissions. If you WANT to flush it, you can. But I honestly do not think that you will hurt anything if you do not flush it. However, if you want to go by the manuel, then by all means, flush it! =)

Flush/replacde means the same thing. I have never known or been told of a difference between the two.

Should I change the transmission fluid on my 2003 Honda Pilot that has 100,000 miles?

Yes, and make sure you use genuine Honda automatic transmission fluid, not aftermarket. Get an 18mm drain plug gasket while toy are at the dealer. This would be a drain and fill only, it holds 3.0 or 3.5 quarts. Do not flush, Honda states this is not good, and they are correct. If it has never been changed, you might consider doing it twice, drain and fill, drive it, drain and fill.

Want to do my own trans fuild change

Ok, just make sure you use Hyundai SP3 automatic transmission fluid when you do change your fluid (7 quarts). Dexron,Mercon, and Ford transmission fluids are not compatable with Hyundai automatics. If you dont' feel comfortable about changing your fluid, a Hyundai dealership will do it for you, Just ask for a transmission fluid-flush exchange.

Can I use atf in a 07 kia sedona automatic transmission?

Hi, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in the case of KIA I would VERY VERY definitely NOT
PUT ATF OR ANY OTHER FLUID EXCEPT WHAT KIA SUPPLIES. Not only would you void the warranty on the transmission. But an incompatible fluid may chemically attack the seals in the transmission thus destroying it.
If you happened to have put it in. DON'T DRIVE THE CAR. AND HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FLUSHED CLEAN.
Hope your having a Happy New Year

No. While there is no carbon filter in the transmission the fluid can still be changed in the traditional manner. They prefer to do the Flush since they can charge so much more for flushing it than they can for changing it. Find a Jiffy Lube or a transmission shop and They should be more than happy to do it. If it were something that only a dealer could do they wouldn't provided detailed instructions on how to do it in the Haynes repair manual on that vehicle which can be purchased at most auto parts stores.

HOW DO I CHECK THE TRANSMISION

According to the owners manual, unless you see a leak from the transmission, or have unusual driving conditions such as frequent towing, it's not necessary to check the automatic transmission fluid. By the way, if you need an owners manual, you can download a copy in pdf form for free online from several websites. Just do an internet search for 2004 Cadillac CTS owners manual free.

I dont have a problem per say but i went to get an oil change and they told me i need Transmission service $159.95 Coolant flush $89.95 Fuel induction service $99.95 and fuel filter $89.95 totaling in...

They are scamming you... never go there again... Not likely that you need those services on your 2007 Elantra.

Parts estimate:
Transmission service ~ $6
Coollant flush: $20 ~ $30
Fuel injection service $20
Fuel Filter: $13

Service estimate:
Transmission service $40
Coolant Flush $30
Injector service $50
Fuel Filter replace $20

Total Parts & Service = $209
However, you probably don't need all that...
Does your car have any particular problems?
Please comment ... Thanks..

2007 Toyota 4 runner transmission filter and fluid change??

at 50,000 miles there is really no need. i would wait and save up that money and do a transmission flush 7- 10 quarts of toyota f-type fluid can be costly but a flush removes all of the fluid and garnish along with any fine shavings (normal wear and tear) out of the tranny and replaces it with new clean fluid. normal intervals would be at about 80-100,000 miles. you should be able to find preventative maintenance schedules in your owners manual. if not any repair facility would have it on their computer.
