Question about 2001 Volkswagen Beetle

1 Answer

Almost entire dashboard isn't working after a jumpstart

I had to jump my car battery and now it seemes like no electronic in my car works. The radio doesn't turn on. The speedometer, gas meter, and tachometer don't work. The engine oil pressure light is flashing. The odometer only stays on when the car is running, and the trip odemeter resets when the car is started. The clock and temperature by the rear view mirror don't work. Lots of problems. I have the fuse card, but i can't figure out which fuses to even look at since most of the images are a book with an exclamation point. Please help!

I would go into the fuse panel and just start pulling fuses and looking at them. Make sure they are not burnt looking. You should actually be able to see the wire inside. If it looks like its burnt in 2, then replace it.

After jump starting my 2011 dodge caliber the engine light stays on and radio will not work

Both are probably from a low battery. The radio needs unlocked with a code. The engine light will go off eventually. Or have it turned off.

The car won't start but everything else works (dashboard, lights, windows, radio). If jumped it starts right away but doesn't seem to be holding charged when turned off

Battery may be defective, charging system may be bad.
I had a similar issue years ago, and the "new" battery was defective.

RECENTLY HAD MY CAR JUMPED BECAUSE I LEFT THE HEADLIGHTS ON. NOW MY RADIO ISN'T WORKING. DID I FRY THE RADIO AND COULD A REPLACEMENT RADIO FIX THIS OR COULD THIS ALSO BE AFFECTED BY THE WIRING?

When jumping, or anything else electrical on a vehicle, always connect negative LAST. You could have fried the fuse or the radio. Check fuse first. On newer vehicles jumping is dangerous and can cause system failure.

2009 escalade cannot jumpstart

You can not jump a dead battery, that isn't
capable of taking a charge

You could have a bad starter solenoid or
other issues.

When turn car over does not turn over but headlights work radio works ect

Headlights and radios don't require a lot of Amp like the starter.
1-If you recharge the battery and it doesn't work, let have a jump start.
2- If the jumpstart can turn then your battery is weak.
3- If the jump start can't not turn then you have a bad start solenoid. The solenoid is the small top part of the attached image.

Your radio/nav system needs a code. Go the your dealer's parts department , give them the VIN of your car( should be free $0). Punch in the code through the car radio and your radio/nav system should work right away.
