Hello! Have recently had the automatic gearbox replaced and my mechanic informed me that he had to turn off the battery so now the radio/cassette player does not work and its asking for a 'Code'. I have done some research and found out that I need a seriel no which I don't know how to retrieve and then I have come across several sites asking for money between £1.99-7 for them to retrieve the code. I don't know how legit they are.
I am confused as to what to do next and I miss my music!
I am about to go to a Ford dealer but I am concerned about being overcharged.
I would appreciate some pointers and thank you very much in advance!
Regards
Miss Hamdi Barre
I had the same problem. I went online and found http://www.decodemyradio.co.uk/ford_fic_code.php
They emailed my code within a few hours. Pretty cheap, cheaper than a new radio and a lot less hassle than phoning around.
I had this problem after I install remote on my ford festiva 98. you can just look for the no of the dealer you bought the car from. they can help you out. mine didn't charge me anything just a simple phone call and they give me the code. Cheers
Remove the radio and on the back is the chassis number on a sticker ,model number and chassis number then i can generate a code for you .
You will probably have to remove the radio and look for the serial number on it i dont think you could even get that info out of the book for the vehicle some manufacturers use so many differenet kinds of equipment its not even funny
