Question about 1999 Isuzu Rodeo
When in park or neutral the idle will rev to about 3000rpm and then suddenly go down to where it should be before revving up again. It generally stays around 2500-3000 and is consistently high when in gear as well. I took it to a shop and they said a sensor was detecting that the carb was running lean, so that was affecting the problem. they cleaned the sensor, which is a unit btw the air filter and the carb (??) (i know nothing) which seemed to fix the problem for about a week but now it's back. any other suggestions?
I had the same trouble 2 to 3000 rpms. there is a power steering stwich on the bottom of steering pump unplug this and see if your rpms come down. Mine did,you can get a new stwich from rockauto.com for about 60.00. It took me four months and 400.00 to find this out

If there is an idle air motor you may need a new one of those that might be the "sensor" that they were talking about
