Did anyone suggest a waterpump?

yes as long as the headgasket isn't leaking, i can tell you those cars are known for that and most of the time it will need a new head also(they crack)

  • james lee Nov 12, 2008

you have to pressurize the cooling system and look for leaks if you see know leaks and it is loosing pressure than more than likely your headgasket is the problem

Where is the frost plug installed on a 2000 plymouth neon?

there are several.4-6 or more?? if the coolant is rusty, plan on doing all of them or sell the car. BIG $$$$...If you have not kept up with the coolant service, you will have much bigger problems later on. how many miles? at 90k miles replace the timing belt, tensioner and water pump, use factory chrysler parts only. if you dont and the belt breaks, or water pump siezes, the engine will be trashed.

My 2000 neon is overheating. has 60 thousand on motor. new water pump flushed radiator new thermostat. runs perfect. till about twenty miles or so down the road then overheats and boils.. cracked head?

It maybe a cracked head or head gasket or cracked block. Ask your friends for help (those with mechanical abilities) or take it to a shop. Make sure you don;t get water/ antifreeze in the oil or your whole engine will be toast.
Pull the spark plugs. the one with the cleaner/ whiter insulator is probably the bad cylinder.

Hope this helps.

Engine Cooling problem 2003 Dodge Caravan 6

It needs a thermostat and a coolant flush, in the worst case scenario a head gasket may be blown or leaking, have your mechanic do a coolant flush, thermostat, and leak check.

2000 Dodge Neon Radiator Swap

If rad/cooling system runs low on coolant, it will starve heater core of hot coolant that it needs to put out heat. Fill rad, with heater on, and cap off, to bleed out any air in system while you run it for a while with cap off, and see if that doesn't give you heat back.
