You will need to jack the car up as far as possible, then put it on jack stands and remove the floor jack, then put a thick piece of wood on the jack pad and take the weight off the Motor Mounts, this will allow you to get the bolts out and remove them, make sure you use jack stands and at least a 3,000 LB capacity floor jack. BE CAREFUL!

Also make sure to get a 13mm stubby wrench. You will not be able to get on the top retaining nut above the mount with anything but a stubby wrench. Make it easier on yourself and get the type with the racheting box end. I found mine at Sears.

How do i replace a oil pan on this car

First, drain the oil.

You will need to get an engine hoist and lift the engine about a half foot up. This will require unhooking at least one motor mount that is closest to the oil pan.

Once the engine is lifted, you can unbolt the oil pan and remove/replace it.

Do be mindful of what sort of sockets you need as some Passats require special hex bolts tools or other odd tools.

I have a 2001 vw passat and my mechanic checked it and said i needed motor mounts and brakes. would that stop the car from pulling because i need motor mounts?

The brakes are the cause of the pulling isue. So get that fixed first. It's caused by uneven wear- one side grabbing better than the other. Find out if it's in the front or rear and replace both calipers (front or rear). Always repalce brakes in a set (front/rear).

The motor mounts were probably just noticed by the mechanic. After 8/9 years the mounts get a bit of play in them and you would feel a thump when accelerating, shifting.... If they were really bad i think that would cause a slight pull, but that would be in an extreme case

Remove gearbox from vw passat automatic . It is a 1999 model. Transmission fluid is leaking, dont know where the fluid is leaking from. Will drive a short distance prior to the automatic shift not...

this is not a weekend mechanics type job because you could damage something else taking it out.best advice is to fit a manual gearbox which here in spain you could buy from a accident damaged car with the flywheel and clutch and starter motor for around 300€ need to change the drive shafts as well i think

Why when I use reverse my car always jump?

There are two predominant possible problems , firstly the rear brake shoes can have come loose jamming when reversing , rather a common problem . Or the gearbox could be on the way out .
