Question about 1994 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
1994 Mercedes S600 will not start. Engine turns over & has power, but does not engage. There is an odor of gas also when ttrying to start.
An s600 is basically two engines bolted together. The fact that it doesn't even try to run on at least six cylinders tells me that it is most likely a control module problem or an EZL-this is located on driver's side under hood on top of wheelwell(you'll need to remove the cover panel to access). It is bolted on and probably even has a vacuum line going to it, along with three plugs. This is not cheap by any means, so look for a used one online. This is about the only unit that you can replace without having to take it to a shop, and unfortunately it oftentimes will scrap a vehicle(due to the cost)
