the switch to the passager side door is ok but the driver side is not i would assume that the window's engine is out

Have you tested the window switch that rolls the window up and down to make sure it sends power to the window motor?

Did you verify that the switch is OK?

I have a 97 with the same problem for past 2+ years. There is a relay box in the panel which sends signal to the window motors. The relay is not available from dealer or auto parts stores. You will have to find one at a salvage yard.

I Have a 1998 Buick Rivera Blower does not blow i have power to the relay under the rear seat i have pulled the blower motor. by passed and motor fine no power to fuse left side of dash is there a rel

Not sure hat rely you are checking but the blower motor does. To have a relay in the rear fuse block. The fuse you're checking protects the HVAC computer. The HVAC computer uses that circuit to monitor the voltage going to the blower motor.

The most likely problem is the blower motor resistor, aka blower motor module, blower motor speed control. It is typically located near the blower motor. The red wire is power from the battery and should be there all the time. Black is ground. Purple is power to the blower. Grey/black is the speed input from the HVAC module.

How do I get to the blower motor on a 1984 oldsmobile toronado?

Your Buick Riviera's heater fan is powered by a blower motor, which in turn is powered by a blower motor resistor. The resistor is a small electrical component that also regulates the fan speeds of the blower motor. Like any part, the blower burns out from time to time and has to be replaced. Replacement blower motor resistors cost about $50. It will take you about 30 minutes to install a new one in your Buick Riviera.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket set
  • Screwdriver
    • 1

Open the hood and disengage the negative battery cable on your Buick Riviera using your socket set. You will need a 10mm socket to loosen the battery cable bolt.

    • 2

Remove the plastic trim panel under the glove compartment on the passenger side of your Riviera.

    • 3

Loosen and remove the mounting screws that hold the blower resistor in place on your Riviera.

    • 4

Unplug the wiring harness from the old blower resistor and then remove the resistor completely.

    • 5

Plug the wiring harness into your Buick's new resistor. Also tighten the screws to hold the resistor in place.

    • 6

Reattach the negative battery cable on your Riviera and tighten it with your socket set.

Buick century 1998 power window passenger side will not work , nothing work mechinal , all other windows work

You most likely have a bad window lift motor or MORE LIKELY a broken window regulator. The door must be disassembled to replace either or both of these.
It could also be a bad window control switch or a broken wire in the door-jamb area. Please note that EITHER of the switches for the passenger window (the driver's control switch or the one on the passenger door) can cause BOTH of the switches to not work to move the passenger window. In this case, electrical diagnosis must be performed to locate the cause of the problem.

I am trying to replace the window lift motor in my 1998 Buick Riviera, and have no idea how to remove the window regulator. A forum I read said you need to drill out the rivets, but where are those? There...

The rivets are installed on the door shell. You will see them after the trim panel is removed. The rivits are very large and you will need 1/4" nut and bolts to reinstall the regulator

My 98 Buick Riviera is shifting a little hard. I

Actually what you are driving has a very strong transmission, what i would suggest is getting the fluid and filter REPLACED not FLUSHED. This should solve your problem depending on miles.

My car window doesnt roll down how do i get the door panels off without breaking them its a 95 buick riviera

make sure you have all screw's and if any bolt's them out , then you have to start from bottom and pry off ( if needed ) . some times you can just lift off . best bet get a repair book ( part store or free at library ) .
