My ani brake light comes on some times and it feels like the brake pedal has more play in it than when its off
"ani brake light"??? Do you mean Antilock Brake light? If the antilock brake warning lamp is illuminating while driving under normal driving conditions, then you probably have a malfunction in your antilock brake system. You must scan your antilock brake control module to find out why it has been illuminating the light. Wheel speed sensor malfunctions are a common cause of the symptoms you are describing, but you cannot be sure if that is what is causing it, or which one is causing the problem without scanning the controller and performing proper diagnosis.

have you check? the master cylinder. sometine when you get the rotors cut they dont come out right because they may be warped or to thin. if you did the job yourself you might have put the calipers in on the wrong side. this happens alot . if your rotors front and rear are fine then switch the calipers to the other side.

Sounds like your getting abs activation when its not needed. Most likley one of the wheel speed sensors has failed. You do need to have a scan tool to read the live data from the abs module as the problem is occurring to pinpoint which sensor is faulty. The abs light will not come on because the abs module thinks its just working normally. I'm an ASE certified mechanic and have seen this problem many times on various vehicles. You might have to pay somebody to diagnose it, but replacing the sensor it a very easy task. I hope this helps.

Is it possible that you are hearing the abs pump running in the engine compartment? It sounds like an ABS problem with one of your wheel speed sensors.

If I understand you correctly, you feel a vibration it the brake pedal when you apply the brakes. Is that correct?
Have your brake rotors re surfaced; they are warped.
"engine makes cavitating noise" ....what does this mean?
