Question about 1999 Ford Explorer

1 Answer

Filling gas tank

1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition...When filling up with gas, the pump keeps shutting off like the tank is full but it isn't...I can still put in 5-6 gallons but filling at a low speed. Then the read out on the console computer reads only 18-19 gallons instead of reading full tank.

There is a vent pipe that runs along the fill pipe, they get kinked and cause this concern (tank can't vent air when filling), the only fix is to replace the fill pipe assembly.

Why do my 1999 ford explorer Eddie Bauer limited edition drink alot of gas?

you could need a tune up, have dirty injectors, a bad thermostat, dirty air filter, high fuel pressure, stuck injectors(hanging open).

2005 ford explorer ABS, SES LIGHT, AND ADVTRAC LIGHT ON

The first thing to do is to have the ABS and engine computers scanned for trouble codes.
The problem with the check engine light could also turn on the ABS and traction control lights. Or it could be different issues.
The gas gauge being out of calibration could be the float in the gas tank or the gauge on the dash. I doubt that problem is related to the warning lights.

1999 ford explorer will not shift into reverse?

this is always caused by a failed/worn out reverse clutch pack, you must remove the trans and have it overhauled to correct this failure.
