Where exactly is the battery in the trunk? I only know it's at the passenger side; however, there is no nothing there. Do I need to take the trunk wall off to find it? Is it necessary to change the battery, is it possible just to recharge it? I read the owner's manual it says battery maintance is free at the BMW center. Anybody ever tried?

In the trunk under the floor plate.... most likely closer to the passenger side.
There is a fuel pump shut off switch. On that specific car I'm not too sure where it is, but you might take a look on the passenger side behind a plastic door on the kick panel (where the passenger would put his/her feet.). It could also be behind a door in the trunk. The operators manual should have the exact location.
There are 3 different fuse boxes in the 2001 Jaguar S Type vehicle and all of them are on the passenger side of the vehicle. The First One is called "Front Power Distribution Box" and is located under the hood on the passenger side of the engine next to the generator. The Second One is called "Primary Junction Box" and is located in the passenger foot area near the door jam. The Third One is called "Rear Power Distribution box" and is located in the trunk of the vehicle next to the battery. These are the three places in the vehicle you will find the fuse boxes. The headlight fuse is in the "Front Power Distribution Box" and if you were to stand on the side of the car next to the right front tire and look down at theFront Power Distribution Box #7 in the middle farthest away from you on the box should be the Front Fog Lamp Relay. From here there should be a diagram on the box to let you know exactly which fuse will be the headlights such as high beam and low beam and from there it should give its exact location and color of the fuse as well as the number of the fuse fore example such as blue 15 etc... I do hope this will help you. Thank you j_berry06
There are two batteries on the CLS. The main battery is located in the trunk on the passenger side under the trunk mat.
There is also a small 12 AH auxillary battery located under the hood
beneath the cabin air filter housing, passenger side. This aux battery
maintains the electrical system in case the main battery is discharged.
It will not start the car.
Hello: Instrument panel fuse block- located on the instrument panel (passenger side consel) near the
floor. Remove the panel then the fuse block cover. Engine compartment fuse block: Under the hood on driver side near the battery. You may have to remover cover to access the fuse block. Rear compartment fuse block Located in the trunk. Access the fuse through the trunk panel on the driver side. The inside of the fuse block covers give you the location, size of fuse and purpose. Hope this helps.
The battery location for a 2005 BMW 545i is in the trunk. Open your trunk, and on the right side of the car (passenger), look for two black plastic screws (flathead fit) along the paneling. Use a flathead (from the tool kit amongst the trunk lid), or a paper-clip to turn both of these plastic screws 90 degrees, you should be able to pull these out with your fingers afterwards. The plastic screws hold in the protective paneling, you'll have to to lift up trunk-liner (covers your spare tire), then pull the paneling outwards; underneath, you'll find the battery and terminals.
It is located on the right side of your trunk. First lift off the trunk lining then pull out the side lining to reveal the battery among a bunch of wires. Be sure to reconnect the vent (on the front side of the battery-it is housed in a small gray tube connected to a black elbow) this will prevent gas from the battery building up in the trunk. follow this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/debbieandmarc/sets/72157612417073268/
