Re: 2004 Kia Sedona trying to find the starter.
It is located on the drivers side underneath the van. you have to remove it from the underside of the car. you will need a 17 millimeter socket or wrench. Remove the ground cable before attempting to remove the starter.

those cars are known for having over charging problems check to make sure the batteries not boiling over and also check the wiring to the alternator to make sure its not melting at the battery terminal
Disconnect the positive battery terminal. You'll need to remove the 3 bolts holding on the heat sheild to the starter, also remove the lower heat sheild on the exhaust manifold. You'll need diconnect to 2 wires attached to the starter and unbolt the 2 bolts holding the starter to the transmission/engine.
Starter is located underneath the car at the rear of the engine, you will have to crawl underneath. If you are having problems starting try taking lead off the starter and clean connections, I did this and it cleared the problem.
It should be on the passenger lower side you may have to get vehicle up in the air and take off splash sheild theier are jus retainers hold it in and the lower front engine under cover/ Please rate my response Thank you very much
