This could be any number of problems. The only way to begin to find out what is going on, is to connect a diagnostic scan tool to the vehicle in question.

Coil light stopped working engine wont start

by 'coil light' do you mean the glow plug light? is your car diesel? do you mean the yellow light that looks like a spring?usually if it doesnt come on or stays on there is a problem with one or more of the glow/heater plugs. If you can access them check with a voltmeter that you have power supply to them all

The yellow "check" light is glowing on my Honda's

That is your Check Engine Light. There is a trouble code detected by the car's computer. Have the codes read to find out what the problem is.

Engine Maintainance light on

This could most likely be one of 2 things, 1. if it is your maintainance light, it is probably one of your sensors, possibly the mass air filter sensor, oil pressure sensor, and 2. If it is a diesel engine and its the glow plug light, you would need to replace your glow plug relay because it telling you that the glow plugs are still on when the engine is running, which you should take care of asap before you have to replace the glow plugs themselves.

Re: golf yellow glow light

the idea or concept of the glow plug is to heat the fuel long enough to start the motor.... it should stay on long enough for the glow plugs to heat up enough to start the motor then they go off because they have done their job. so the light going out is normal after a few seconds
