Car wont stay Running,Door wont Lock-Unlock, Radio dont work and Trunk Pop don't work

It appears that you have an electrical short somewhere. If you are mechanically inclined and have hours of time and electrical knowledge, good luck! Sometimes these problems can be easily found where the wiring harness runs through the firewall from the fuse panel under the dash to the engine compartment relay box. Vibrations of the engine over time on a vehicle over 10 years old will chafe the wires over time on places where the wires lay over body frame components. Also heat and time on a cars wiring harness over a decade can damage wiring in the engine compartment or along exhaust manifold underneath. Try looking in those places for visible damage before tearing out all the interior or dash.

Trunk lock replacement

William,

Most all vehicle Lock Cylinder assemblies are held in place by a Spring Steel Retaining Clip. It may also be necessary to carefully remove the Emergency Release Cable and the Solenoid that opens the trunk electrically. The retaining clip is usually a "U" shaped Clip with a flange on the Closed End. If you cannot find what holds the Lock Cylinder in place, I strongly suggest that you take it to a Certified Mechanic that is totally familiar with your brand of vehicle. It is most often better to pay a professional a reasonable fee to avoid causing damage to other components surrounding or attached to the part requiring replacement.

My 2007 RX8 ignition light is on indicating a possible electronics problem. The door lock, the interior and trunk lights are not working. . the radio/CD player does not work and the radio panel does...

Sounds very much like two possibles a short in the fuse box to the non working parts or your battery went dead and was recharged and you did not reset these items. As what U mention all sound like the equipment that needs to be reset when you change a battery or it goes dead.

Rear trunk lock replacement

It happened to me also. I went to three different places and they all said that it needs a replacement of the mechanism. I don't remember what was bad but the dealership said that they need to replace the whole key mechanism. So, we did and it cost about $150 3 yrs ago. Mine was making a noise like someone was pushing the trunk release button 10 times in a row and of course was not locking (it would sometimes with the key). After we replaced it, it has been working well ever since.

Door locks have mind of their own

the fords are well known for the little motors inside the doors to freeze up and stop working!!
but since you say sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, could mean that your BCM is bad!!

VW Jetta 2003 1.9 TDI trunk does not want to open with remote My Jetta trunk recently started to give me problems without warning. I cannot get the trunk open with the remote. The trunk only opens manually...

If your lock actuator engages (you can hear the sound it makes) with the remote/electric button on the door, but the trunk doesn't open then the problem is likely a broken plastic arm that the electric assembly pushes. You can see it if you unscrew the inside cover from the trunk lid and try the remote. I started having the same issue with VW Jetta 2002 GLS that was rear-ended 8 months ago. My guess is the cracked plastic finally gave out in the cold weather.
