I am trying to swap out the air filter in my 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit, but can't find where it is located. The manal does not give me a diagram of the engine. Can someone please tell me where it is located?

Where the heck is this Air filter. I have followed all the tubes, looked in all the usual places, tried to look under the car, I can't find the thing anywhere. I haven't been able to get all the plastics off the top of the motor, but it doesn't really look like it's under there either.. Somebody has to know. What's even more weird is there is no mention of changing the filter in the maintenance section of the owners manual until 50,000 miles..

The actual engine cover is the air box also.. you have to pull the whole cover.. the flip it upside down and you will see 4 screws.. losen the screws. and you will see the filter.. replace the filter, put the screws back in and put the cover back on the engine. the engine cover just pops out and pops back in. it might be a little hard to pull it the first time but dont worry. you wont damage anything

Look for a round plastic tubing leading from the motor. will be a large diameter. the end away from the motor should have a large black plastic box closed by either screws or clips.... remove those clips and you will find the filter.

Hi
Sorry....No good news on this problem.
The resistor is built into the blower motor and can NOT be removed
You are going to have to replace the motor
