Question about 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Grand Cherokee 2000 feels ''sluggish''

Feels as if it's in a lower gear or has added 300 pounds of weight. Has recently had an oil change...I assume they changed oil filter. Also has new snow tires inflated to almost 40 lbs. Has never been 'tuned" that I know I supposed to tune it? Has 108K miles.

note, I submitted this question earlier. When you wrote for a clarification, I didn't know where to answer. Sorry. Thanks for your help. Karen

I would consider changing the vehicle speed sensor. When they go bad, they can really throw out a lot of bad data to the computer, resulting in unexpected behavior like you're experiencing. They're only around $20-$25. I hope this helps! :)

As something to start with, I would check your injectors, do an injector cleaner/seafoam treatment. I would also drain the oil, and check with a magnet to make sure there are no metal shavings running around, and check to see if one of the cylinders has lost compression/the spark plug isn't working.
